Important information on intended use
Before use, check that all parts - lacing, fasteners - are present and free from defects. This combined groin guard is designed to protect against impacts to the abdomen and genitals, exclusively in boxing or unarmed martial arts. Depending on the intensity and form of use as well as cleaning and care, the groin guard may become deformed or even damaged. Extreme heat (from approx. 40° C and higher) can also lead to deformation and reduced protection.
The groin guard should be replaced immediately in the event of the following damage: heavily worn upper material, open seams, bulging padding, significant dents or dings, fasteners that no longer close, etc. For the best possible protection, it is also advisable to replace the groin guard with a new one at the latest at the end of the applicable warranty period of two years, but in any case no later than six years after the date of manufacture (see label in the groin guard).
Pay attention to the correct size!
To determine the correct size, measure the pelvic circumference with a tape measure. Before the first training session, have the groin protector fitted by a second, preferably qualified person such as a trainer, coach or experienced athlete. The groin guard should fit the shape of the body, fit snugly and not slip. The genitals and abdomen should be completely covered.
Before use, it is essential to check that the Velcro fasteners are securely fastened and the laces tightened, otherwise the groin guard may slip. Depending on the model, tighten the lacing on the back and close it with a double loop or close the elasticated band with Velcro without obstructing the blood supply to ensure an exact fit.
The protection area corresponds at least to the dimensions given in the table below and runs mainly in the area shown on the right.
Sizes
XS = 51 cm hip circumference and smaller
S = 51 - 77 cm hip circumference
M = 77 - 87 cm hip circumference
L = 87 - 93 cm hip circumference
XL = 93 cm hip circumference and larger
S/M = 79 cm and smaller
M/L = 79 - 89 cm
L/XL = 89 cm and larger
Cleaning and storage
Protect the groin protector from moisture and wetness. Always store in a dry place. Allow to air out well after sport so that perspiration can evaporate. Clean by hand with lukewarm water and, if necessary, a mild detergent. Thoroughly remove any detergent residue with a damp cloth and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Allow to dry at room temperature between 20 - 30° C in a well-ventilated room. Avoid heat sources and extreme temperatures (hair dryer, heater, heat lamp, etc.).
Never use chemicals, paint thinner, petrol, alcohol or harsh cleaning agents for cleaning, as these can damage the surface. Treat leather with a suitable, colourless care product.
This combined groin protector shields the abdomen and genitals against punches, kicks and other blows during training in unarmed martial arts. If not used as intended, incorrectly cleaned, heavily soiled and/or subsequently modified, the protective function is considerably reduced and can lead to injuries in extreme cases. However, no protector can guarantee complete protection against injuries.
