Sebastian Formella
IBO Weltmeister & WBO Europameister*, Welterweight
“Hafen Basti” (Harbour Basti), as his fans respectfully and affectionately call him, doesn't bear this name for nothing. In addition to his boxing career, the Hamburg native still worked in Hamburg harbour as a harbour bridge operator. It is this down-to-earth attitude that made him known and loved far beyond Hamburg.
One of the key moments of his career was undoubtedly his fight against Thulani Mbenge in 2019. Formella not only won the IBO welterweight world title, but also proved that he is at the top of his weight class. This triumph earned him recognition on the international boxing scene.
He had previously secured the title of German champion and showed impressive dominance in the ring. His fight against Roberto Arriaza, which he won on points, also made it clear that Hafen-Basti can score points not only with his fists, but also with a clever fighting strategy.
Keep fighting!
