Dariusz achieved the feat of becoming WBO light heavyweight and cruiserweight world champion in 1994. In addition, his spectacular fights against Virgil Hill and even more so against Graciano Rocchigiani attracted a great deal of attention.
With 48 successful title defences, Dariusz also holds a lonely record in Germany. Alongside Henry Maske and Sven Ottke, his spectacular fights paved the way for boxing to achieve unprecedented popularity in Germany.
